(DUBAI, U.A.E.) -- Good news for dragon boaters in the Middle East or anywhere if they are willing to travel. The Dubai International Dragon Boat Festival that started last year is back the weekend of April 3-4 in Festival Marina.  It is organized by Dragon Boat Alive and Dubai Festival City along with Island Global Yachting (IGY).

Built, designed and managed by IGY, Festival Marina is a unique yachting destination in the heart of Dubai Festival City on the banks of Dubai Creek. Festival City is a waterfront mixed-use urban community that includes shopping, dining entertainment, homes, schools, hotels, offices, and leisure over 1300 acres.

Dragon boating in Dubai was founded by Dragon Boats Alive in July 2006 - when dragon boats entered Middle Eastern waters for the first time.  Since then, thousands of people in this region have tried dragon boating for the first time.  There are currently three annual dragon boat festivals in the UAE
