Sandy Gallin has simultaneously enjoyed two Hollywood careers for years--one as a talent manager for such stars as Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand and Michael Jackson, the other as a creator of restored and expanded housing for such notables as saxophonist Kenny G and "Survivor" producer Mark Burnett.
Completion of the Gallin house marked the finish of Gallin's 42nd home designed and refurbished for the Hollywood elite. Gallin was going to call it a day. He was planning to keep his final house in Bel-Air. That's when he realized the house is "too big and too lavish" for him. It is listed at $32 million.By the time it was finished, the house had seven bedrooms and 12 bathrooms in slightly more than 12,000 square feet. Gallin had added yoga and steam rooms plus a pool.
Gallin purchased the property two years ago for about $8 million from the estate of actress Jane Wyatt, who died in 2006. At the time, Gallin was planning to raze the house and replace it with a 4,000-square-foot home featuring walls of glass to take advantage of the sweeping city views.The house was designed in1936 by Paul Williams, one of the era's finest architects. That was one reason the Los Angeles landmarks review board refused to let Gallin tear it down.

Hank Azaria, the Emmy-winning actor who plays the villainous pharaoh Kahmunrah in the 20th Century Fox comedy sequel "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," has purchased a home in Bel-Air for $10 million.
The traditional home has seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms in 9,000 square feet, and it sits on close to an acre. The two-story house was built in 1932.
Other features are a dance studio, den, library, outdoor fireplace and pool.
Azaria, 45, will appear as Abraham in the biblical satire "Year One," to be released in June. It stars Jack Black.
Azaria also plays psychiatrist Craig Huffstodt on Showtime's "Huff" (2004-'06), and he is "The Simpson's" voice artist, having played many characters in the show since it started airing in 1989.
Among his characters are Moe, the bartender, and Chief Wiggum.
Jeff Garcia, the Oakland Raiders quarterback, and his Playboy model-wife, Carmella, have sold their home in Manhattan Beach for $2.5 million.
The three-story Mediterranean, built in 2005, has five bedrooms and five bathrooms in 4,259 square feet. The house has an open plan with marble floors and a spiral stairway.Carmella, 26, was the 2004 Playboy Playmate of the Year.
Garcia, 39, was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before signing a one-year contract with the Raiders last month. Garcia bought the home in 2006 for $2,775,000, when Ed Kaminsky of Shorewood Realtors, Manhattan Beach, had the listing. The listing agent this time was Jenna Christensen of Keller Williams Realty, South Bay.
Biographer J. Randy Taraborelli has sold his Hollywood Hills compound for $3.1 million.
Taraborelli, 53, has written several New York Times best sellers, including "Elizabeth," the biography of Elizabeth Taylor, and Taraborelli's "The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe," due out in August.
The Spanish Colonial-style home has a main house with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in a total of 4,557 square feet of living space. The home was built in 1941 on 1-1/2 acres, and it has city and mountain views.Frank Bruno, Keller Williams Realty, Sunset, had the listing. James Van Der Beek, a star of the TV series "Dawson's Creek," and his wife, actress Heather McComb, have sold their Studio City home, listed at $2,445,000.
The house was built in 1999 and has three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in nearly 3,000 square feet. There are 180 degree mountain and canyon views. The master suite has a fireplace, beamed ceilings and a walk-in closet. French doors provide access to the patio, which features a mist cooling system. There is a pool and spa.
Van Der Beek, 32, had the title role of Dawson Leery in "Dawson's Creek" (1998-2003), and he has had several film roles McComb, 32, has had recurring roles in the TV series "Prison Break" (2008-'09).
